skibbereen golf club Launch new 12th tee box

The Festival of Golf started in Brilliant sunshine and a large crowd saw our patron Bernard McNicholas cut the tape and tee off the first ball on new 12th tee box last Saturday. Later in the clubhouse both the Captain and Lady Captain Pearse Barrett and Catriona Buckley thanked everyone associated with the project. Presentations were made to Bernard and his wife Pauline and Bernard spoke of his great satisfaction in coming back time and again to the golf club and the superb job done by all in the construction of the tee box which he funded.
Afterwards a large number play in a 9 hole scramble which Fiona Buckley, Noel Shanahan, Liam Ennis and Jerry O’Riordan won.
